Started playing around with various watercolour brushes in photoshop to see what kind of effects I could make. I wanted it quite rough and textured to go with the line quality of the drawings as well as to follow Quentin Blake's style. The outcome of this experiment was reasonably successful for the aesthetic I am aiming for so I plan to continue this process once I draw out all the separate components within the animation.

One thing I may change is using various different brushes with each colour to avoid a repetition of the same shape (as you can see on the back of the horse).
