Animating: The Jump

To get me started, I looked at some previously animated jumps on youtube. I want to my character, 'get ready' to jump to intensify the anticipation and then cutting it at the top of its jump height. 






To get the anticipation reference that I wanted I looked at some animations of cats pouncing and found the beginning of this one this one to be the quite helpful:




This one was very good to look at too in terms of the 3D elements of the pounce





Final Animation:


Played a lot with the graph editor to try get the gravity of my character to look realistic. Because of this the bottom of the teapot doesn't come in contact with the ball until it is flat on the ground. As in the frame before it squishes it, the character isn't actually touching the ball in any way. This allowed me to get away with not animating the ball squashing.
