Shadow Testing

In my initial rendered stills I wasn't happy with the fuzziness of the shadow borders. I decided to have more of an in-depth play with the different shadow options and see if I could smooth it out more.

Raytrace defult settings

Depth Map shadows

Raytrace: Playing with shadow rays and ray depth limit settings

Adding global illumination settings (proton emitter)

After all of the time I spent editing the different settings, it is safe to say that whatever I change doesn't seem to have any major effect on the shadows in the way I want. I think the reason behind this is due to the glass texture I am using, which is something ill just have to work with unfortunately. The final settings I will use will be from the third image as this one took the least time to render.
