Detailed Description of Storyboard
Scene 1:
- Old styled wanted poster pinned on brick wall
- Humpty Dumpty's face is on it in black and white
- Introduces one of the protagonists
- Sets the era that the animation is set in
- Poster is swaying from side to side slightly
- Sound of people chatting and general outside noises in the background
Scene 2:
- Close up of horses feet from about the knee down
- Many different horses but in different depth levels
- Horses galloping to the right
- Fast faced, quick action shot
- Sound of horses hooves hitting the ground
Scene 3:
- Medium close-up of a knight riding a horse with another knight on a horse in the background
- Wearing a helmet and holding a sword
- Can see the head and other small parts of the horse behind
- None of the horse in the front can be seen
- Movement of the sword up and down as well as the head back and forth
- Not sure whether I want this part in slow-mo yet?
- Knight in the background with same movements but to a smaller scale
- Battle cries of the knights as well as the sound of horses hooves hitting the ground again
- Dramatic music fades in at the end of this shot
Scene 4:
- Beginning shot showing the backs of about half a dozen knights on their horses
- Pan out to show full fleet of knights in triangular shape
- Tiny spot in distance is the back of Humpty Dumpty
- Ahead of him at the very top of the shot is the kingdom boundary marked with a brick wall
- Movement of horses legs and subtle movements of the knight as they race toward Humpty
- Dramatic music becomes the prominent sound as the battle cries fade at the same time the shot is panning out
Scene 5:
- Long shot of Humpty Dumpty running side on
- Shows his full body as well as grass in the foreground
- Reaches the brick wall of the kingdom boundary at the end of the shot
- Awkward movement of Humpty's arms and legs as he runs awkwardly
- Camera follows him until he reaches brick wall
- End of shot he bends down putting his hands on his knees while puffing
- Not sure how to transition music and sounds here just yet
Scene 6:
- Low angle shot looking up to the king front on from about his mid section
- Has armor and crown on
- Shield in one hand with kingdom crest on it
- Sword held in it sheath/scabbard around the kings waist
- King drawing his sword from its sheath
- Speech bubbles pop out to the right of him
- "You have no way to escape now, my dear friend. I shall cut you with my sword and bleed you of your golden treasures."
- Or in Shakespearean: "Thou hast nay way to escape anon, mine dear cater-cousin. I shall cut thou with mine bodkin and ble'd thou of thy golden treasures."
- Some kind of intense buildup music?
Scene 7:
- Action shot of just the kings hands holding his sword
- Possibly just the edge of Humpty can be seen poking up from the bottom right?
- Sword cutting down from the top left to the bottom right of the frame
- Very quick scene
- Maybe held for a second at the start of the scene to build suspense
- Dependent on how long the rest of the animation is
Scene 8:
- Over the shoulder shot of the king from behind looking at the broken Humpty Dumpty
- The brick wall of the kingdom's boundary can be seen at the very top of the frame
- Kings head slowly bowing forward is disappointment
- Humpty's yolk also oozing out further from his shell and bodily remains
- Music fading out to quietness
- Almost like its the end of the animation BUT ITS NOT. Boom
Scene 9:
- Birds eye view of Humpty Dumpty's yolk and egg whites in a frying pan
- More like scrambled eggs than clearly identified egg white and yolk
- Frying pan moving to move scrambled eggs
- Eggs moving at a different pace to the frying pan, delayed slightly
- Quick / short scene
- Sizzling / general cooking sounds
Scene 10:
- Scrambled eggs put onto a plate from a bird eye view
- Empty plate then the bottom side of the pan passes over putting scrambled eggs onto the plate
- Pan passes over quite quickly
Scene 11:
- King and his knights sitting at a table eating breakfast, the last supper style
- Lots of plates, cups etc.
- Small movements of arms cutting things on their plate etc.
- Clanging of knives and forks on plates and quiet chatter
