Visit to the Warehouse

Girls Section -

Looking at the types of toys already available as well as common themes with the colours used and packaging. There is some very interesting toys...

Zelfs: Re-hash of trollz? With black, soulless eyes.
Common theme with the dress ups was fairies.

Personified food toys. The fast food collection shows you cooking the person toys is the person deep fryer?? A little bit twisted

The fantasy of talking animals seems to be quite common and popular

Sparkle Girls Mermaids have a very interesting packaging approach. Minimal about of material used.
Blue is very prominent on this self, change from the repeated pink and purple 'girl' colours. This has more than likely emerged from the popularity of Frozen. Companies ripping off the Frozen look with their toy design and packaging.

Monster High is nice mix between typical pretty girl toys with grotesque boy toys. Also seems to have a bit of an influence from My Little Pony with this 'Pyxis Prepstockings' toy specifically.

Introducing a digital element with the physical. Can scan your Littlest Pet Shop toy and can play with it on their app you can download.

Barbie aimed at 5 to 6. Mermaid (again) and a superhero princess which is a unique twist

Unisex

Minion overload. Trying to follow the Hot Wheels sort of market. Not sure if die cast is appropriate language to use to target 5 to 6 year olds

Boys

Boy version of Littlest Pet Shop. Ugly spelt with two g's; 'Uggly'. Trying to be cool...

Kinetic sand has a science twist to a fantasy approach. Subtly educational that wouldn't be as recognisable to the children.

Example of a clam shell toy and it's packaging. Essentially the clam shell is packaging in itself so it only needs a backing and base to hold it up.
