The setup:
Animation all finalised:
While going through this process I realised I had forgotten to include the close up of Pongo's feet when he sneaks out the newly opened door. I managed to slot it in here while slightly cutting down the end so the length stays the same. It ended up being a total of 31 seconds which is almost perfect. There may be some minor editing throughout the second pass over of the animation to get the time back under 30 seconds but otherwise I'm pretty happy with the overall timing of the story.
Next im going to try UV map him again. Fingers crossed it doesn't take as long as the last time (I had to restart this because I didnt continue the rigging process on the iteration of the model that I UV mapped. I cried).
I have also come to the conclusion that the face squish blend shape is completely unnecessary and I can easily get the outcome I initially intended with only using the rig of my character. What I have blocked out so far I actually like more than the cartoon like face squish. Since this animation has quite a serious tone to it, it makes sense for the animation to be closer to a more realistic representation. EXCITED TO SEE IT ALL ANIMATED PROPERLY THOUGH. Weeeee
